Three-Gallon Redware Jar with Manganese Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jar with ribbed lug handles and incised wavy line decoration around the shoulder, decorated with a large spotted manganese tulip on the front and reverse. Brushed manganese highlights to handle terminals. Lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark at shoulder. Rim chips. A minor handle nick. Light surface wear.
