Fine Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "I. BELL", John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840, small-sized, ovoid jar with flared base and well-formed rim, the surface covered in a mottled brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Impressed with "I. BELL" maker's mark at shoulder. Appealing size and form with desirable, early John Bell maker's mark. Wear to rim. A faint 1 3/4" hairline from rim. Typical surface wear around midsection. H 5 3/4".
