Glazed Redware Jar, Norwalk, CT or Huntington, Long Island, New York origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, curved tab handles, and flared rim with coggled embellishment at base, the surface decorated with large daubs of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Heavy wear to rim. Wear to handles. Two thin cracks from rim, measuring 3" and 1 3/4". Heavy chipping to base. Typical light surface wear. H 9".
