Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with footed base, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a wavy cobalt stem bearing leaves. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Swag decoration underneath each handle. Three small rim chips. Base chip. In-the-firing contact mark to front.
