Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape Decoration, attributed to Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, New York, circa 1815, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed drape design accented with spots. A small glazed-over rim chip. Shallow chips to base, some of which are glazed over. A small piece of clay is adhered to one handle.
