Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched on a large leaf. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent color and contrast. Significant restoration to right side, reverse, and underside of jar. Small chips to interior of rim.
