Two Stoneware Crocks with Figural Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon crock with impressed cow decoration, stamped "GARDINER STONE WARE / MANUFACTORY / GARDINER, Me.", circa 1876-1890; paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon crock with stenciled Federal eagle decoration, stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", circa 1870-1885. Cow crock with 4 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse, extending through one handle terminal, and including a small reglued piece at rim, a small chip and minor nick to same handle, an additional, approximately 7" long hairline from rim on reverse, crossing hairlines on underside, two of which continue onto base, and a small chip and minor nick to interior of rim. Eagle crock with significant cracks and wire around rim, a 2" base chip, a rim chip, a small iron ping to reverse.
