Scarce One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT. / GREENSBORO PA," circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and applied strap handle, the collar featuring heavy freehand cobalt dash decoration between two stripes, the body with freehand stripes and Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling surrounding stenciled flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A minor rim chip and an in-the-firing contact mark near base on front, including a small piece of adhered clay. Otherwise excellent condition.
