Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. WEAVER," Beaver, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and tall collar with flattened rim, the front decorated with a boldly-brushed fuchsia vine design applied over slip-washed clay. Additional cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a 5/8" chip to end of one handle, a very minor chip to opposite end of same handle, and a small chip to one end of handle on other side of jar.
