Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Inscribed "2 Quarts" in Cobalt Script, attributed to Madison Woodruff and Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY, circa 1867-1869, semi-ovoid jug with featuring the slip-trailed inscription "2 Quarts" below an impressed and cobalt-highlighted asterisk. Brushed cobalt highlight to handle terminal on reverse. Desirable small size. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
