Fine One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated with a boldly-brushed swag and hanging tulip design around the body. Collar decorated with brushed leaves. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent decoration and color. Sealed semi-circular crack on underside, with a sealed crack extending off from it 4" up reverse of pitcher.
