Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock, Inscribed in Cobalt "Shupps Bee Hive / Plymouth. Pa," Impressed "EVAN R. JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, low-walled cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with the slip-trailed inscription for "Shupps Bee Hive". In-the-firing dryness to cobalt. Otherwise excellent condition.
