Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with stenciled tulip, vine, and arrow motif at the center, additional tulip, floral, and geometric stenciling, and freehand stripes below the rim and at base. Large sealed J-shaped crack from rim on reverse. Some water glass staining. A minor rim chip and a minor handle chip.
