Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Triple-Leaf Decoration, Stamped "HARRINGTON & BURGER / ROCHESTER," New York State origin, circa 1852-1854, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of three heavily-detailed leaves accented with looping vines. Slip-trailed "3." at shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent color and decoration with a desirable, short-lived Rochester maker's mark. Two chips to bottom edge, which appear to be in-the-firing. 3 1/2" surface line at base, continuing 5 1/2" onto underside, not visible on interior, which possibly occurred in the firing.
