Two Pieces of New York State Stoneware, second half 19th century, a two-gallon jug with cobalt bird decoration, stamped "WHITE & WOOD / BINGHAMTON, NY," circa 1885; paired with a two-gallon cream jar cylindrical jug with tall spout, decorated with elaborate cobalt floral decoration, stamped "W.H. FARRAR & Co / GEDDES, N.Y." Jug with large area of restoration to reverse, continuing a short distance onto underside, a glazed-over spout chip, a few small, shallow post-firing spout chips, a small glazed-over handle chip, and a salt drip to front. Farrar jar with significant restoration over most of surface, including some touch-up to top of floral design and freehand "2". Additionally, some exfoliation visible on side and reverse and some wear to interior of rim.
