Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base and nicely-tooled rim, the body decorated with a brushed cobalt swag and hanging tulip design. Spout flanked by swags. Leaf or flower blossom design on each side of the collar. Loss to spout. Rim chips. Base chips. 1 3/4" in-the-firing flake / contact mark to reverse. 1 1/8" smooth piece of in-the-firing clay adhered to right side of front. Small bit of clay adhered to front base. 3" vertical hairline from base on front.
