Three Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, each with a light Albany slip wash over a salt-glazed ground. One impressed "F. MCKINNEY MEAD", one impressed "POMROY & HALL"; one impressed "G.S. TWITCHELL. / SUCCESSOR TO / G. WHITTEMORE". TWITCHELL bottle with shallow base chip, probably in-the-firing. POMROY & HALL bottle with two small in-the-firing contact marks to base of neck and a minor base chip. Mead bottle in excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark to each side and a small amount of in-the-firing residue to underside. H (of Twitchell bottle) 10".
