Diminutive Wide-Mouthed Redware Jug, New England origin, possibly Bristol County, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, wide spout with flattened rim, and thin strap handle, the surface covered in a streaky reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Excellent form and size. Spout chips. A shallow chip and areas of glaze wear to edge of handle. Typical light surface wear around midsection. H 4 1/8".
