Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "L.B. DILLINER & CO. / NEW GENEVA, PA," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed freehand stripes, a stenciled tulip design, other stenciled flourishes, and a reverse "4" at base. 3" x 1 1/4" hole in underside, with cracks emanating from it, including a crack curving up from base and ending below the word "GENEVA". A splotch of old white paint to reverse.
