Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with fan-like tail, perched on a spotted leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Very nice condition with a few long, very faint surface lines.
