Rare Stoneware Handled Flask with Cobalt 1867 Date within a Wreath, probably Frank B. Norton, Worcester, MA, wheel-thrown flask with squared spout, flattened sides, and applied strap handle, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a wreath surrounding the underscored date "1867". The color of the flask and style of wreath decoration suggest the maker may be Franklin B. Norton of Worcester, Massachusetts. Exceptional form, surviving in remarkable condition. Near-mint condition with a minor base nick. H 10".
