Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS / BINGHAMTON, NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a bird with striped body, perched on a flowering vine. Folky design on an unusually-small-sized jug. Base flake on front. Long sealed Y-shaped crack on side of jug. Tiny spout nick.
