Two Pieces of Ballard Stoneware, Burlington, VT, third quarter 19th century, a four-gallon jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "BALLARD & BROTHERS / BURLINGTON, VT"; paired with a two-gallon jug with spotted cobalt floral decoration, stamped "O.L. & A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT". Four-gallon jug with a 3/4" chip on top of spout, two faint lines to spout, a glazed-over spout, one faint line to shoulder, and two short glazed-over lines at base on reverse. Two-gallon jug with large chip / contact mark to front, a smaller contact mark to side of jug, some fry to cobalt, a minor base chip, a few small chips and short lines in spout.
