Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, New England origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, applied lug handles, and flared rim, the surface decorated with large daubs of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Includes original lead-glazed lid with manganese decoration and grooved banding. Jar with base chips, two chips to underside, wear to rim, a shallow chip on interior of rim, light handle wear, and some typical light wear to surface. Lid with minor edge chips. H (excluding lid) 8 1/2".
