Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK, JR. / ATHENS, NY," circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two large tulips extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some spots of fry to cobalt. Approximately 4" Y-shaped line on underside, continuing up base 3 1/4" and 1 1/2" in two places.
