Four Ovoid Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, second quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jug with cobalt wreath decoration, stamped "N. CLARK / ATHENS"; a two-gallon jug, stamped "N. CLARK / ATHENS"; a one-gallon jug, stamped "NORTON & FENTON / BENNINGTON"; and a two-gallon jug with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "L. NORTON & SON". N. Clark jug with wreath in excellent condition with minor base nicks and some typical, small in-the-firing flaws. Second N. Clark jug with in-the-firing flaws and roughness to surface, two lines extending from underside, and other minor firing flaws. Norton & Fenton jug with chipping to spout. L. Norton & Son jug missing handle, with large salt drip to reverse, and some firing flaws.
