Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Flowerpot, Stamped "HUBBELL & CHESEBRO, / GEDDES, N.Y. / PATENTED / APRIL 27 1875," tapered pot with tall rim molding, the rim embellished with four rectangular clay lugs. Pot is covered in Albany slip on the interior and exterior body. The rim area is salt-glazed, and includes cobalt highlights to the maker's mark. The number "4" impressed beside the maker's mark presumably refers to four gallons. Hole in underside is possibly not original. Chipping around hole on interior, along with a surface line extending from it, not visible on exterior. Several small to medium sized rim chips. A 1 3/8" chip to bottom of rim molding. Some chipping to bottom edge. H 10 3/4" ; Diameter 15".
