Ovoid Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt leaf and bud motif on the front and back along with swags below the collar. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals and dashes below. Chips to both handles. Spidering hairlines on underside, extending 3 3/4" up side of jar where they form a Y. Horizontal surface lines to body, not visible on interior. Tiny chips to rim and a shallow chip on top of rim.
