Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.W. COWDEN / HARRISBURG. PA," circa 1861, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with three tulips extending from a central stem. Significant spidering crack extending diagonally from base 8" up reverse of jar, as well as 5" horizontally at base. These cracks connect to two thin cracks in underside. Some surface wear to rim and handles.
