Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO, PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand vining below two cobalt stripes above Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling. Base with freehand "4" flanked by dashes. Small chip to end of one handle. Tight surface line on underside, not visible on interior. Chip on interior of rim.
