Half-Gallon Stoneware Butter Crock with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, short cylindrical crock with rounded rim, decorated with three straight and wavy stripes of cobalt slip. Good size, form, and decoration. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. Small, in-the-firing dent to right side of front. Some yellowish paint on underside, not related to any restoration.
