Two Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, both of similar tapered form with wax sealer rim, each decorated with four cobalt stripes. One with 1" separation at base, continuing 1 1/4" onto underside, two shallow in-the-firing chips at base, and several tiny chips to interior of rim. Other jar with a 5" crack from rim, a 1 1/4" hairline from rim, two small rim chips, shallow nicks to interior of rim, a faint 3/4" line at base on reverse, and a small glazed-over base chip.
