One-Gallon Stoneware Butter Crock with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled banding and thin, semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with three bold wavy stripes of cobalt slip. Good form and decoration. A minor chip and tiny nick on interior of rim. Some in-the-firing graininess to cobalt.
