Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy with heavily-shaded petals and swirled center. Slip-trailed "3" to right of maker's mark. A tight 7 1/2" line on underside, not visible on interior. A 1" chip and minor worn spot to one handle. A shallow 1 1/4" rim chip on reverse and small iron ping on reverse. A small rim chip on side of crock and a minor rim nick on front. A few base chips and some flakes to bottom edge of crock. Some staining to surface.
