Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with pronounced spout, decorated with a slip-trailed daisy plant design including a well-detailed blossom and additional stem with three buds. Slip-trailed "2" above. Very nice condition with only minor flaws, including a small spout chip, a 1/2" J-shaped line in spout, a 1" in-the-firing line where handle meets spout of jug, a few other faint in-the-firing surface lines in neck of jug, and a few very short surface lines at base, probably in-the-firing.
