Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "F. STETZENMEYER & Co. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.," circa 1850, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed floral design featuring a large blossom with heavily-detailed interior resembling fish scales. Slip-trailed "2." to shoulder. Cobalt highlight over maker's mark. Outstanding color and decoration. Excellent condition with a few minor base chips.
