Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1865, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flower basket with cross-hatched interior and open handle. Basket features various leaves and dotted trails surrounding a circular flower blossom. Side/reverse of jug with an approximately 6 1/2" horizontal crack at base with 7 1/2" and 2 1/2" vertical cracks extending off from it. Glazed-over in-the-firing separation lines in upper handle terminal.
