Two Northeastern U.S. Stoneware Jars, second half 19th century, a two-gallon jar with slip-trailed cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT"; paired with a similarly-shaped, unmarked jar with boldly-brushed cobalt floral decoration. Norton jar in excellent condition with two shallow chips on interior of rim and some minor nicks to inner rim for lid. Other jar with chips to interior of rim, two handle nicks, wear and a chip to inner rim for lid, and a 2" hairline from rim above one handle.
