Two Pieces of Cowden & Wilcox Stoneware, Harrisburg, PA origin, circa 1865, a one-gallon cream jar with floral decoration, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," paired with a half-gallon undecorated jug, stamped simply "COWDEN & WILCOX". Jar with fry to cobalt, vertical hairline at base, which continues onto underside, a smooth base chip, a 1 3/4" rim chip on reverse, and a small rim nick. Jug with small, glazed-over stone ping at base, horizontal surface line to underside of handle, and a few in-the-firing separations where the handle joins the body of the jug.
