Two Half-Gallon Baltimore Stoneware Jars, third quarter 19th century, both of similar cylindrical form with rounded shoulder and semi-squared rims, one with boldly-brushed cobalt clover plants on the front and back, the other with more typical cobalt clover design on front and back. Stronger-decorated jar with 1 1/4" rim chip, a nick to shoulder molding, a 1 1/8" base chip, and a 7/8" base chip, as well as hairlines to underside, a few of which extend onto base. This jar also a faint horizontal surface line below rim, not visible on interior. Other jar with some shallow chips to top of rim, a 1 1/4" base chip, a smaller base chip, nicks to base, and some wear to cobalt.
