Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, second or third quarter 19th century, a cylindrical bottle with rounded shoulder and tapered spout, decorated with brushed cobalt ring around the neck, impressed "B. FOX"; paired with a cylindrical bottle with rounded spout and brushed cobalt ring around neck, impressed "L. HYDE". Fox bottle with some fry to cobalt and a tiny spout nick. Hyde bottle in essentially as-made condition with some dry stacker marks to shoulder and an in-the-firing 3/4" base chip with some salt residue on underside.
