Six-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and flattened rim, decorated with two very large tulips extending from a heavily-leafed stem. Large professionally-restored Y-shaped crack extending from base of jar to area directly below one handle. Left branch of "Y" extends through one handle terminal onto right side of shoulder of jar. Some light fry to some flower and leaf tips. Small rim chip.
