Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with footed base, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on each side with large horizontal tulips extending from heavily-leaved stems. Undersides on handles with leaf decoration, underscored by a cobalt stripe. Very nice condition. Tiny nick to one end of each handle. Tiny nick to rim. Some surface wear to midsection. Dry area to one side.
