Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Swag Decoration, Stamped "W.B. KENNER / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with several groups of brushed cobalt swags. Rare and desirable Shenandoah Valley maker’s mark. X-shaped hairline on underside, with additional 4 1/2" thin crack extending off from it at base. 4" hairline from rim. Small rim chips and nicks.
