Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITE & WOOD / BINGHAMTON, NY," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a crested bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stem or vine. 2 3/4" hairline from rim on reverse. 3 1/4" shallow area of chipping on reverse. Small nick to one handle. Scattered exfoliation to left side of decoration, around bird's tail. Some fry to cobalt. Tiny flake to shoulder on reverse. Some exfoliation to underside.
