Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Heart Decoration, Stamped "BURGER & LANG / ROCHESTER N.Y.," circa 1870, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tall, flaring collar and rounded rim molding, the front decorated with a slip-trailed looping line design resembling a heart. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Several small spout chips. A shallow chip on interior of rim and a small chip on exterior of rim. Some wear to Albany slip on interior of collar.
