Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Starface Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS," circa 1860, cylindrical jar with flaring collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a human face surrounded by eight rays. Two slip-trailed cobalt "2" "s above decoration. Maker's mark highlighted in cobalt. One of the more popular New York State stoneware decorations. Rim chip and very tiny rim nick. Height 12".
