Scarce Stoneware Presentation Inkwell, Impressed "R.L. LASHER," attributed to Nathan Clark, Sr., Athens, NY, second quarter 19th century, large-sized inkwell with raised banding and coggled decoration to shoulder and base as well as around edge of top and bottom surface. Top of inkwell with large ink reservoir hole and three smaller pen holes. Midsection with impressed and cobalt-highlighted name "R.I. LASHER". 1 1/2" hairline on side of inkwell, extending 3/4" onto underside. An additional very minor 3/8" line at base. A few base chips. A loss to very bottom of recessed hole at center of inkwell. H 2 5/8" ; D 6 1/4".
