Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM-A' MACQUOID & CO / NEW-YORK / LITTLE WST 12TH ST.," circa 1865, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of a scissor-tailed bird in feeding stance, perched atop two tulips. A good example of New York State bird decoration. Some tight lines in underside, a few of which extending a very short distance onto base. 1/2" stone ping on reverse.
