Four-Gallon Stoneware Keg with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "EDMANDS & CO.," Charlestown, MA, circa 1860, ovoid keg-form cooler with circular bunghole, decorated with incised and cobalt-highlighted bands, the midsection featuring a slip-trailed leaf flanked by vines. Brushed cobalt around bunghole. X-shaped hairline on underside, with a 3 1/4" hairline extending up from base. Salt drip at base on reverse. A few rim chips. Contact mark on reverse.
